If you can't find an answer, write to us using the contact form or report an issue about a specific case.
About the platform
What is Chestni Ceni?
A platform where only people with a real purchase rate whether the price was worth it. The customer scans the QR code on the receipt, answers five short questions, and the rating goes into the venue's Fair Price Index. Participating companies are listed publicly.
Does the badge mean this is the cheapest place?
No. The badge doesn't measure whether it's cheap, but whether enough real customers think what they got was worth the price. An expensive restaurant can have a high index if its customers find value in it.
Who can rate?
Anyone with a receipt from the venue, within 72 hours of the purchase. One fiscal receipt allows one rating. Employees and owners don't rate their own venue.
Can a company buy a rating or a badge?
No. There is no field where anyone can set a percentage, and no price you can pay to get the badge. Participation in the pilot is free; later, companies will be able to pay only for analytics, never for a rating, a badge or a ranking. The methodology is public and anyone can calculate the index.
How do I check whether a company is taking part?
Type its name in the “Check a company” box or open the list of all companies. Every sticker at a venue has a QR code that leads to the venue's live status, even if the sticker hasn't been replaced yet.
What should I do if I have doubts about a specific price?
Report an issue. Describe the specific case: an unclear fee, an extra charge without warning, a gap between the listed price and the bill, or a request for a rating in exchange for a reward. You don't need to prove a violation.
About rating
Can I rate the same venue many times?
Once every 30 days. Your ratings of different venues carry more weight than many ratings of one place.
Why can't I see the result of my rating?
On purpose. If the screen showed the result, it could be shown to the waiter in exchange for a dessert. You see it in the venue's index, together with everyone else's.
Can an expensive restaurant have a high index?
Yes. The index doesn't measure whether it's cheap, but whether what you got was worth the price. We also compare within price ranges: €, €€, €€€.
What happens if you don't recognise the venue from the receipt?
We show the date and the legal entity from the receipt and ask which venue it is. The rating goes in at level B, and the device is “learned”: after confirmations from several different raters, it becomes known.
What do I get for a rating?
Participation points, whatever you answered: 10 for each accepted rating and a 5-point bonus for your first rating at a new venue. The levels (Newcomer, Regular, Connoisseur, Guardian) reflect participation, not content.
About receipts
Why do I need a receipt?
Because only a receipt proves that the purchase is real. An opinion without a receipt still reaches the company as feedback, but it doesn't go into the official index.
What do you read from the receipt?
Only what is in the QR code: fiscal memory number, receipt number, date, time and amount. From these we identify the day and the legal entity. We don't keep a photo and we don't know what you bought.
How much time do I have?
72 hours from the purchase. After that, the receipt can only be used for feedback.
The receipt has no QR code, or it can't be read. What should I do?
Fill in the backup form with the date, time, EIK (company registration number) or company, receipt number and amount. The rating goes to the company as feedback (level C), with no points and without counting towards the index.
About the badge
What does the “Fair Price” badge mean?
Enough real customers say it was worth it: an effective sample size above 40, an index lower bound above 80 for 60 days, and no active integrity report. It can't be bought.
What does “Rated on Chestni Ceni” mean?
The venue is in the system and invites its customers to rate it. The first stage in the pilot. It is not a badge for a high rating.
Can the badge be removed?
Yes, automatically: when the lower bound falls below the threshold, when there is an active integrity report, or when manipulation is proven (in which case the venue is also ineligible for the badge for 12 months). The QR code on the sticker always leads to the live status, so a removed badge shows up straight away.
Can companies connected to the team get the badge?
Not for the first 12 months. They are marked on their profile as a related party, and their data is audited externally.
For companies
How much does participation cost?
Participation in the pilot is free. Later, companies will be able to pay only for analytics and tools, never for a rating, a badge or a ranking.
What does the company get?
A public profile, a directory listing, a “Rated on Chestni Ceni” sticker, a QR code to the live status of each venue, a digital badge for its website, a business dashboard and feedback on the five measures.
Can the company see who rated it?
No. Individual ratings are not shown to anyone, including the company. It sees only summaries by venue and by measure.
How do I claim my company's profile?
Use “Claim your profile”: find the company or venue, sign in (or sign up with email and password) and submit a claim with proof — the EIK (company registration number) or the venue's phone number. If the company isn't listed, you add it with its venues and fiscal memory numbers.
About personal data
Can others see my ratings?
No. We publish only summaries by venue. That way no one can link a rating to a person or ask for one in exchange for a reward.
What personal data do you keep?
As little as possible: a fingerprint of the receipt (not the receipt itself), a pseudonymous rater identifier and — only if you sign in with email, Google or Facebook — your email, name and profile photo. Details in the privacy policy.
Can I delete my profile?
Yes. Write to us through the contact form; we delete the profile and the data linked to it. The aggregate indexes don't change, because they contain no personal data.
